Chickpeas

  • 1 cup chickpeas (previously soaked)
  • 1 onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • 4 cups water
  • Soak the chickpeas in water overnight and boil them until they soften the next day.
  • Drain the boiled chickpeas and set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a pot, add chopped onions, and sauté until onions are golden brown.
  • Add the boiled chickpeas to the pot, along with salt, black pepper, and water. Stir and bring to a boil.
  • Once it boils, simmer until the water is absorbed. Then, cover the pot, let it rest for a while, and serve.
